CLARENDON FARM - One year on...

Having been at Clarendon Farm in Wiltshire for over a year now John and Sarah Haydon are in full swing for the 2012 foaling and covering season which sees Tobougg and Double Trigger side by side for the second season after moving from Devon..  Clarendon Farm, situated just off the A303 at Teffont, near Salisbury, is proving to be much more accessible for mares visiting both stallions either boarding or walking in.

'As Tobougg's popularity continues , we are benefitting from being more accessable to mare owners and helping to ease the strain on the finances of mare owners who are keen to use him' says John Haydon.  'The move will put us two hours nearer Newmarket and only a stone's throw from the Lambourn area'.

Clarendon Farm is situated on well drained limestone ground and is already established as a working stud. 'We have made a few alterations to make things work better for us and are now ready for the coming season'.

' Looking back it was a massive move completed in a very short time and we were lucky things went relatively smoothly' said John

East Burrow Farm was established as a Thoroughbred Stud some 24 years ago alongside a commercial farming enterprise. The farm became solely dedicated to horses in 1999 when Double Trigger arrived here to commence stud duties.

Before the arrival of Double Trigger the stallions Out of Hand, Jester and Opera Ghost all stood here and alongside Double Trigger the stallions Gorse, Systematic and for one season, on behalf of Darley, Bests of the Bests stood here. Although the form is entirely geared towards the production of Thoroughbred horses, a small herd of North Devon cattle graze the paddocks and our own hay and haylage is produced.
